FAQs

Clear answers before you begin.

If your question is not covered here, please contact AML Assure.

Who is the audit for?

The flagship audit is aimed principally at small and regional UK law firms and the people responsible for their AML governance, including managing partners, MLROs, MLCOs, COLPs and compliance managers.

What does the £999 + VAT price cover?

The price applies to firms with up to 10 partners for the focused, agreed firm-level audit scope. Larger firms can contact AML Assure for scope-led pricing.

What does “independent” mean here?

The review is carried out by HS Consultants Oxford Limited, which is separate from your firm. It does not mean regulator appointment, accreditation, certification or guaranteed regulatory acceptance.

Is this an automated AI audit?

No. Technology may assist the assessment, but a human professional reviewer evaluates the evidence, challenges unsupported points, applies judgement and signs off conclusions.

Is this a certification or guarantee of compliance?

No. The standard service is a one-time, point-in-time review of the agreed evidence. It is not a certification, guarantee of compliance, regulator approval or continuous or ongoing monitoring service.

What does the report include?

Subject to the agreed scope and evidence, the report provides a clear summary of the review, headline findings, practical priorities and recommended next steps for management.

Does the audit predict SRA enforcement or inspection?

No. The audit does not predict decisions by the SRA or any other regulator. It helps the firm understand and prioritise control issues from the evidence reviewed, with reference to the regulatory context relevant to the agreed scope.

Do I upload documents to AML Assure?

No. MadeThis does not receive or store substantive audit evidence. After onboarding, email one encrypted archive to luke@hsconsultants.info. Do not include its password in the same email; send it separately by WhatsApp to 07990139301, ideally with only your firm name and audit ID.

What evidence is normally requested?

The base audit focuses on firm-level AML arrangements and supporting organisational evidence. The requested material is confirmed after onboarding.

Should we send live client files or identity documents?

Not unless they are specifically requested. Please do not provide live client identity documents, unnecessary personal information, privileged material or other client-confidential information. Anonymise documents where reasonably possible.

Does the base audit include comprehensive live-file testing?

No. The base service is not marketed as comprehensive live-file testing unless a separate scope is specifically agreed.

Does the base audit include remediation or ongoing support?

No. Monitoring implementation or compliance with recommendations, policy drafting and remediation work are outside the standard £999 audit unless expressly agreed separately.

How is the final report delivered?

HS Consultants can deliver the final report as an encrypted file or archive by email, with the password communicated separately. MadeThis does not host the substantive report.
